Hey everyone! These are our answers to our TOP five most frequently asked questions in the salons!

1. Do I want to go for my hair colour appointment with hair that is dirty or clean hair?

  • CLEAN HAIR !!

2. Are hair extensions damaging?

  • All hair extensions are damaging to our hair, just like hair colours and heat can damage our hair too. It’s all about how you take care of your hair.
  • We think that the most effective extensions are tape-ins and hand tied weft extensions.
  • The only hair extension that has absolutely no damage is the halo piece extensions.
  • Most people who wear hair extensions do not have the most healthy hair to begin with, thus a small amount of damage is no big deal as a small sacrifice to achieve for what the great final result will be.
  • We haven’t experienced any serious damage for the extensions techniques we provide in our salons and in actual fact, we are sure the hair is healthier because we do not apply too much heat on it!

3. How much does hair colouring cost and what it does?

  • The cost for colour is based on many different factors-
    • Your colourist’s experience
    • Your colourist’s credentials
    • Your amount and volume of hair
    • Your hair history
    • Your colour of choice
    • Your desired colour hair goal
    • The steps to reach your hair goal
    • The time taken on for the whole process

4. What is the difference between the babylights and balayage?

Babylights are extremely fine highlights that break up your natural roots! Most often, they are used to frame your face and break up your natural color. Balayage is usually about having your natural color at the roots with lighter and brighter pieces painted upwards while allowing to show your roots. Think of ombre and balayage is just with pieces that are painted higher to break it up. Balayage is basically a technique that involves hand-painted highlights. Usually most hair colors usually involve a finishing of mix of balayage and babylights.

A lot of people try to figure out what hair colouring techniques the picture is, but it’s really not your task to deduce and could get confused. Do not worry about the technique because for us, most pictures posted are a mixture of everything.

5. Can your brunette hair go lighter without being too orange or brassy?

The simple answer is yes and no! It is really dependent on your history of hair and starting hair colour! If your hair has the ability to lighten beyond the level 7th, then the hair can lighten past the warmth stage. Hence you can get rid of warmth from the hair by applying the use of a glaze or toner. If your brunette hair doesn’t lighten past the level 6th, then there will be an underlying warmth. It all depends on the hair and its history. There’s no other way around this.

Therefore, you must lift your hair colour to 7+ levels to avoid warmth in brunettes! It is sometimes impossible to achieve the level 8th in one session. It is again all depends on the starting hair color you have. This is the color chart guide to help you understand that every person has warmth pigmentation within their hair! All you need is to lighten the pigments to the lowest amount of underlying warmth possible so that you can prevent the warmth. Even then, the fact is everybody’s hair will fade gradually to warm or yellow over time. It’s impossible to avoid it as you’ll observe below since that is the reality underneath your hair! !
